How it works

Pick the difficulty above, how many puzzles go on a sheet and how many sheets you need. The preview shows exactly what comes out of the printer. “New puzzles” makes a fresh set as often as you like – the supply is practically endless.

“Download PDF” saves the sheets as a file, in A4 or US Letter – to print later, solve on a tablet or pass along. For four new puzzles every day, see the daily printable Sudoku.

Four difficulty levels

Mixed sheets climb from easy to expert and then start over – handy when several people share one stack. Or stick to one level:

  • Easy – about 41 givens, almost always solvable with naked singles alone. For beginners and kids.
  • Medium – about 35 givens, now and then you'll need a hidden single.
  • Hard – about 29 givens, pencil marks recommended.
  • Expert – about 25 givens, often only solvable with candidate lists and patterns.

Large print

With “1 (large)” a single puzzle fills the page. The numbers come out more than twice the size of a newspaper puzzle – easy on the eyes for seniors, kids and anyone who'd rather not reach for reading glasses.

One solution, every time

The puzzles come from the same generator as the online game and the neun. app. Each one is checked for exactly one solution when it's generated, so guessing is never needed – if you're stuck, the Sudoku techniques will help. New to Sudoku? The rules fit on half a page.

More templates

For the youngest there's Sudoku for kids in 4×4 and 6×6, and for making your own a blank Sudoku grid. Fixed layouts with a page of their own: 4 per page with room for notes and 6 per page for lots of puzzles on little paper. Schools, libraries, care homes and clubs are free to copy and hand out every sheet.
